It was an authentication protocol designed by Microsoft to protect against exploits such as phishing and domain spoofing.
It was the result of merging the SPF and Microsoft’s CallerID specifications, and was published as an Experimental document by the IETF as RFC4407 in 2006.
Also known as spf2.0, It was abandoned when SPF (spf1) has established itself as a standard.
